(ticker: BBBY), which hired Kirkland & Ellis in August to help advise the company on strategies for dealing with its increasingly untenable debt pile. The law firm is known for its prowess in leading struggling companies through the bankruptcy process, so many industry observers have concluded that it is only a matter of time before BBBY files for bankruptcy protection.
